Itinerary
7 jours à vélo entre Blois et Amboise

Day 1 : Around Blois

  • 42 km
Today is dedicated to the Loire river and Blois! Cycle along the river up to Muydes-sur-Loire where you will cross it to come back to Blois. Visit its castle which architecture reflects its previous owners.

Day 2 : Blois - Chambord - Blois

  • 43 km
For this second day, follow the Loire river to the lovely town of Saint-Dye-sur-Loire where you will enter Sologne region to reach Chambord castle. You will have the possibility to take another path to come back to Blois.

Day 3 : Blois - Cheverny - Blois

  • 50 km
For this third day, cycle through Sologne and discover Cheverny castle, which inspired Herge when he created Moulinsart. Do not hesitate to enter the Wine House near the castle to taste wines from AOC Cheverny & Cour-Cheverny. Come back to Blois at your own pace!

Day 4 : Blois - Chaumont-sur-Loire - Blois - Amboise

  • 44 km
Do not leave too late today, as you will need at least 3 hours to visit Chaumont-sur-Loire, more known for its International garden festival which theme changes every year. Enjoy the panorama from the castle on the Loire river and its surrounding. Then, head back to Blois to drop off your bikes. Reach by your own Amboise where new bikes will await you.

Day 5 : Journée autour d'Amboise

  • 30 km
Take the day to discover Amboise and its castle where François Ist was raised. We offer two different itineraries: choose the one you want and discover beautiful landscapes.

Day 6 : Amboise - Chenonceaux - Amboise

  • 48 km
Discover the countryside panoramas while reaching Chenonceaux. Visit this extraordinary castle defined by an almost uninterrupted succession of women who built, embellished, protected, restored and saved it! Don't forget to take a walk in the gardens - named after two rivals - and the park where you can find a maze!

Day 7 : Amboise - Vouvray - Amboise

  • 48 km
Today, you will cycle through Vouvray well-konwn for its delicious wines. So, do not hesitate to stop at local cellars to taste some of them! When you come back to Amboise, you can choose to go through Montlouis-sur-Loire, another famous wine production area!

How to get here?

Your trip:

You will spend four days in Blois to discover Chambord, Cheverny, Blois & Chaumont-sur-Loire castles. Then, head to Amboise to discover its castle, Chenonceau and the surrounding vineyards.
 
How to arrive in Blois?

By train : Blois-Chambord Station. Our shop is at a 5 min. walk from the station.

By car: Highway A10, Blois/Vendôme exit

Promenade Edmond Mounin - at 850m from our shop / at 900m from Blois-Chambord station
